Even after reading the prequel I still like this one better. It's almost completely crackish but I can't remember when I laughed this hard at a yaoi manga (and I use the word yaoi loosely because it's quite tame compared to his younger brother's story). But these successes are rare, at least in my experience reviewing yaoi manga over the past couple of years. One would think that Shounen Ai, Yaoi, Boy's Love is just a passing fancy among girls but its continued influence not only in Japanese otaku subculture but in the global subculture shows the power of. And trust me, that's not a bad thing. In These Words was a comic she drew for her doujin circle Guilt|Pleasure. Does anyone know what kind of pen she uses to draw her manga? Has been around for more than 40 years? While the tone and main themes of these works are all different, the one thing they all have in common is a fundamental misogyny. Initially a webcomic, Guilt|Pleasure's .. I am all for arguing in the realm of fact and what was actually said, but an argument in your fantasy land where you imagine that I have said these words you put in my mouth, is fruitless. This is explained time and time again through the words of the main characters. You may find such crossdressers at regular comic and manga/anime conventions, but lately there have also been separate yaoi-cons where the female fans dress up as bishonen, the beautiful, androgynous boys of the Boy's Love genre. The dynamic between these two characters is so well done that I still somehow can't concretely assign their sexual roles until I see it with my own two eyes.
